Dilution is the Solution.

When we bought our "Rescue Saturn", it had a full tank of gas, over 6 years old.

To get rid of it, I'd siphon a couple gallons out of the Rescue-Saturn. I'd let my car and truck get down to 1/4 tank. Then when I went to the gas station to fill them up, I'd dump the old Saturn gas in first, then fill up. Never had any problems, and after a couple weeks, the Saturn tank was empty and I could remove it.

If it's not contaminated, use it with fresh gas in any vehicle you want. No use putting yourself or a loved one in the hospital for a mistake.

Go green, recycle,LOL

During my small engine days, if the mower engine didn't start on the old gas, we sucked it out and, if not already really bad, saved it to pour it into our cars.

Real bad stuff was poured into a 2 gallon pail. It was then used to clean the mower.

Its gas, not nitroglycerin. Treat it like high proof booze.

Sounds like a good way to get a backyard burn pile going. Actually my method is to soak pile for at least a few days prior to burn with used engine oil & whatever is in the container from cleaning paint brushes. On fire day add a splash of old gas, Light & run.

For only a couple gallons of oldish gas, & not having the fire option, I'd blend it with fresh gas & feed it to the lawn mower or any other Briggs & Stratton engine you might have.

Now a new way to light my burn pile

I'll take it off your hands if you're near. My old 94 Jeep will run fine on it.

If it's under a year old and isn't contaminated with moisture or debris, add it to a vehicle with an already 1/2 filled tank and drive to your heart's content,,, or til you run out of gas.

How much are we talking here, 1/2 gal or 100 gallons?

For small engines like my chainsaw and trimmer, I buy a couple of gallons of Av gas at my local airport. It doesn't go bad. Those two gallons usually last me a couple of years. In a car, if it runs at all, I run it down to empty and fill with premium. If it doesn't run, sell the car!

If you live in the South (below the Arctic Circle) you probably have fire ants. Take a 3ft piece of conduit, stick it down about 4-5 inches in the ant bed, pour in enough gas ( 1-2 cups) to fill conduit, let it soak in. Don't light it. You want the fumes to go down to the bottom of the ant hill, where the queen is. This will kill that bed, but it will be an ongoing battle.

As a retired firefighter, I cringe at the thought of “pouring a little in a pan and lighting it”.

Very fun but also VERY dangerous.

Burn injuries are some of the worst I have ever seen and the disfigurement will last a lifetime.

If your not going to use it, please recycle or allow to evaporate.

Sorry for all the doom and gloom but reality can be a bitch sometimes.
