Old Gasoline

Any slick (safe) ways of getting rid of old gasoline.
Thanks
Mike

I don't know where you live, but near me the county recycling facility has a hazmat disposal site. They take things like oil, paint, gas etc. You may have a similar service.

I live in the country. With only a couple of gallons, I'd pour small quantities and use a match.

If it doesn't smell bad yet, just pour it into your 3/4 full fuel tank along with a little Seafoam fuel additive. It will burn.
Waste not, want not! My old mum used to say.
Happy Glamping.

I was thinking put a small amount in a metal container and light it. Should burn pretty fast.

As long as its not waterlogged, dilute it about 2-1 with fresh gas and add sea foam. Use it for older model car or even lawn mower engines. Most auto parts places also have an oil recycle tank also. Call before you make the trip though.

"pretty fast" is the understatement of the year! The problem is how to safely light it. I would pour the bulk of it on the ground and leave a thin trail across the ground toward the wind several feet away. Be sure the wind is from your back and light the trail.

We would clear fence rows on MILs farm by simply setting out jugs of old gas with a candle behind them. We would then get far away and use the jugs for target practice with a high powered rifle. Al Gore would have been impressed.
