The way I understand it, if you don't have full coverage it just means the coverage would be subject to a deductible. In the event of damage, the insurance company would pay to replace the windshield, but you would have to pay the first $100, $250, $500, or whatever your deductible is. It depends whether or not you feel the extra premium for full coverage is worth not having to pay the deductible.
