Ordering model from manufacturer

A total newbie question,when ordering a model from the manufacturer I assume you have to go thru a dealer.Also ,when doing so,how do you handle the price negotiations of MSRP vs.sale price?Thanks for any info.

Depending on what you buy, there can be varying degrees of prices/discounts. If you're looking at an $8000.00 tent trailer, the discount may not be as substantial as a $250,000.00 motor home.

Get a feel for what the model you are buying sells for in similar or prior years, shop a couple of dealers, even on line and then make your best deal. Typically, on larger purchases, the average is around 23%-27% off the list price.

I don't understand the question - you handle the price negotiation the same regardless of whether you take delivery at the dealer or at the factory. And pay the dealer directly, not the factory. Be aware there is typically an extra fee for factory delivery services, which you "buy" as an option on the RV and pay for it as part of the RV price.

The exception would be a brand that sells factory direct, e.g. Rexhal, Lazydaze,and Born Free, or one of the custom trailer builders like Space Craft or New Horizons. You get the price direct from them, and pay direct to them.
