Ouch. I hope no one was hurt.

At camp Newell and this parked next me. Not sure what happened but it wasn't good. I hope everyone was OK after this. You can see where it is buckled in the middle.

There is some damage on the front too.
May have been a blow out with the way the right fender flare is missing.

Also note that there is no tread left on the outside dual. Looks to have been thrown off.

Looks more to me like someone rear-ended him; HARD (either before or after a blowout?).

Another Blue Ox failure. Guy tows an H3 Hummer. Tow bar broke and the Hummer was enough to send him out of control and run off the road. Scary stuff considering I'm driving 850 miles the next 2 days with the same tow bar pulling a heavier Silverado.

Breaking a tow bar would not cause a tire(s) to throw a tread...., but throw a tread due to blow out, which overloaded the inner duel which it then blew, causing violent manuvering & loss of control compounded by a heavy toad, breaking the towbar sounds reasonable progression to me.

Tow bar broke first was what the service manager told me.

I agree with Saddlesore on this one. I cannot believe a broken towbar would cause a rig of this size to loose control. I think the blow out came first, loss of control which caused the broken tow bar.

Purely speculation on my part but, I see these big beats rolling down the road at 75-80 MPH which the tires are not designed for. When a tire lets go, not hard to image this outcome or worse.

And as far as towing a TT, a blown tire or gust of wind can easily go badly with that set up as well.

Speed, it's all fun and games till someone looses an eye.

Ouch. I hope no one was hurt.

Apparently, he was pulling an H3 Hummer, 4000# of mass. That would add a lot of out of control momentum.

Blew a tire on my old R-Vision. Didn't know it until someone pulled up and yelled at us. Wheel well damage was extensive.
