Our friends lost their rig.

This happened Friday on the NY Thruway. Everyone is okay. They saved the toad and tow dolly. They don't know what caused it.Click image for larger version

Based on what evidence? I'm not seeing anything tell-tale.

Good to hear your friends made it out safely. For everything else there is insurance.

C'mon Gary, you know if anything bad happens it is either a blown steer tire, or a refrigerator fire. This doesn't look like a blown tire, but you never know.

No disrespect meant toward your friends loss. I truly hope they come out of this OK. I just get tired of people jumping to conclusions.

What do you see in the 2 pictures that makes you suspect it was caused by the refrigerator?

That must be the one that burned last Friday on the Thruway near Harriman. My in-laws were on their way into the city when they saw the fire on the northbound side.

It looks like a residential fridge. You know how those cause thousands of house fires a year.

#1 cause of RV fires is engine compartment. Don't jump to conclusions.

Front engine gas-powered coach, running at highway speed, and fire in the front. Hmmm.

Glad to hear your friends got out safely.

Was it on I-87? I’m from Canada and I hear the thruway from some being I-90 so not sure which one is thruway.

What brand of coach was it? Diesel, gas?

They must be still shook up. This is so scary.

Looks like the original fridge to me but I am no expert on fires.. besides I used to start them as a kid..

Now I try my best to keep them from happening
