There is older and there is older. Older quality coaches are never thrown away. We have a branch of the Wanderlodge Owner's Group called "Vintage Birds". At the last Wandelodge Rally in Pine Mountain, GA there were about 135 Blue Birds in attendance ranging from the 1960's until they quit making them in 2009. Some have called it a cult following for these older Blue Birds. They are painted more colors than an Olongapo Jeepney and all have an Ultimate Horn for playing music while entering or leaving campgrounds.

But, if you own one of the older ones it is helpful that you are a retired school bus mechanic.

On our old rig, we missed the opportunity to have:

Diesel powered hot water and heat.
Slide Outs
More Powerful engine.
Passenger chair footrest

But still have a very comfortable, quiet, smooth handling and reliable rig to enjoy.

We have a quality coach (compared to a lot on new ones) with fantastic fit and finish. Also don't have the massive debt. I love no payments!
Ours was very well maintained as well.
Some things needed to be done when we got it and we got them all handled.

On quality, we have been rather surprised how some of the new coaches looked on the lots and at shows.
