Paint and body damage

We were hit by falling rock returning to Calif from Colo, does anyone have a recommendation for a quality paint and body shop in Southern California or western Arizona.
Thank You,

Doug B

P.s. My state farm insurance agent is telling me this will be treated as an accident, it seems to me it's more like hail damage or a falling tree limb which does not automatically raise you you rate?

I would think that if the rock fell on your rig that it would be a comprehensive loss and not an accident.

I have had so many bad experiences with State Farm that I no longer use them for anything. If rates aren't going up then coverage is going down. I agree it should be a comp case not accident.

If you hit a rock wall, and the rocks fell on your MH, then I could see it being considered an accident. But if you're stopped when the rocks hit your MH, it would be falling objects, covered by comprehensive. 50 years ago, I sold auto insurance. A client parked his new Rambler for a week, and when he returned, bird do-do had removed a spot of paint on his trunk. I authorized repair, and an adjuster asked me what coverage did I think would cover it. I said falling objects under comprehensive. He ok'ed it. Eddie Elk.

We had a road gator take out the lower front fascia on our smart car, while it was being towed behind our motorhome. Our Insurance (GMAC through Good Sam) said it would be covered under collision because we were driving at the time - didn't matter that we were driving the motorhome, not the car.

You should make sure that the insurance company doesn't treat your misfortune as an accident. It's a comprehensive claim.

If you wanted to change homeowners' insurance or car insurance, any new insurance company will check your claim history. And an accident is not treated like a comprehensive claim.

Rates and underwriting is based on accidents involved in--but not on comprehensive claims.
