When we go, once or twice a year I: 1) transfer my mail to my sister's house, about 50 miles away; 2) turn off the water since it stops the bills; 3) get a neighborhood kid to cut the grass; 4) turn off the electricity; and 5) ENJOY up to 7 months on the road. All of the credit cards are handled with the internet. We take the dish receiver with us because we can set it up on the road. Our neighbors keep a watch on the house so that's covered.

I don't know where y'all are finding all these neighborhood kids to mow the grass. It's just not happening in this area.

We did it a little different the last 2 times. My wife's ex-husband and his lady-friend came over from Germany and stayed in our house while we were gone. We even picked them up from the airport.
