Iwas looking at a membership in Passport America. Anybody out there have opinions on this service? I like the quality of KOA's but the savings with PA is inviting.

We have Passport. Used it alot in FL. There are some restrictions...not on weekends etc by some of the campgrounds, but if you have a listing of the campgrounds, and their restrictions, you can deal with it. It sure saved us money, well worth it if you like to travel.

We spent 3 months + this winter in the Rio Grande Valley in TX and never paid more than 1/2 price all winter. Depends on the area or part of the country, but last winter in FL we had to really work To find spots that took it during the winter although we still saved several hundred over not having it. It definitely pays. As far as quality of parks it varies just like non-passport parks. Some great some not so good. All in all I'd recommend it highly.

We have used PPA for many years. One of those things you don't leave home without. Of course we full time so we always have it. The parks are different some are resort type and some are bare bones type. The parks come and go so you need to check their web site to see if the park you are interested in is still in the system.

We joined Passport America and within two months we had paid for the membership. We are now paid up for several years and use it often.

Like someone said, wouldn't leave home without it. Has saved us lots of money. We have been members for about 4 years. Half price camping ain't too bad.

Passport America is great! I am a member, and the savings that they offer are wonderful. They offer 50% off the nightly rate at campgrounds all across the US and they have parks in Canada and Mexico too. One thing that I really appreciate about them is that they have a huge variation of campgrounds, from top notch resorts or overnight type places. It's really great. Check out their site if you want more detailed specs: www.discountrvcamping.com

Enjoy your travels!!

I purchased a PA membership for 3 years as soon as we bought the M/H, and have probably saved the entire 3 years worth in the first 7 1/2 months. some campgrounds only allow 2 or 3 days, some 7 days, some longer. And anytime I can save 50% I'll take it.

We just bought into PA. I hope it works out. At the very least I can use the catalog for balast if it doesn't.

I just joined tonight--got plans to stay at a PA campground in three weeks so I'll earn back almost 1/2 of the fee.

BTW, if you enter code R4 when you join you can get a $5.00 discount.

PA is neat! We traveled from California to Key West, FL last summer and stayed at PA sites 95% of the way. Good parks at 50% off...saved a ton of money. Only bumps in the road were when they had "just raised the rates" and they weren't listed in the book or on the web yet. Only happened twice out of about 70 nites. Not bad.

Good luck and "go for it"!
