Good advice johnnyringo, thanks. I Googled it and here is a link to the FDA's warning from last Nov. FDA Continues to Caution Dog Owners About Chicken Jerky Products

So why are stores that sell this poison still allowed to import it?

Just a personal note. After seeing this warning last year, we stopped giving dog the chicken treats. He had never been seriously ill from them but a couple days each week he would have upset stomach and diarrhea. After we stopped, no more upset stomachs. Of course the dog pouted for a week as he truly loved them, but he got over it.

Before our three dogs went to Rainbow Bridge I bought them some kind of pigs ears and rawhide chews. Both came from China and they made two of the dogs very sick. The 3rd dog had serious vomiting. The other two suffered vomiting and severe diarrhea. I refuse to buy any food or treats that come from China, either for us or our pets. I avoid all plastics from there also. They have no quality control and lax laws.

Read the cans or bags... if it's from China, leave it on the shelf.

Capitalism at it's best. Someone is making money with these dangerous products. Why should they care if they sicken our pets? They're greedy and profit comes before all else. Refuse to buy anything from China.

My two Doxies have been eating these treats for about a year with no
symptoms. Having said that the new package is going back to Cos### today!
We should not have to put up with this BS. I never would have looked if I had not
read this thread...My dogs and I thank you.

My DW's sister emailed her this morning. Her dog had kept her up all night, very sick. We had just seen this notice late last night and she called her sis and told her about it. She looked at the bag..."Made in China"!

Got to protect our "fur children".

A couple months ago we bought some dog treats that are good for cleaning dogs teeth. They are a brand name and on the package stated they were made in the U.S. Both our Jack Russels got violently ill for a day and were back to normal a day or so later. We returned them to the warehouse store where we bought them.

It actually is capitalism at its best as when consumers are aware they will stop buying the products as I did months ago and these companies will change or fail. This is really a failure of govt which regulates these products giving us a false sense of security and then allowing bad products to get to market. Just don't buy from China which by the way is hardly a capitalist state.

Send a message via ICQ to Fred and Bonnie
OK, what brands are we talking about, and what stores carry the products?

I just checked my bag that I bought at Petsmart and made by a company called Canyon Creek Ranch. I large print they proclaim that they are an American company. In small letters it says 'Made in China".

I'm really annoyed that Petsmart is still selling these after such a warning. The worse part is that Sena, my capuchin monkey, has been eating these as well.

Has anyone found a brand that is not made in China? Sena and Lily really love them.

We have been looking in every store we go into for several months. Every brand of Chicken strips we have found is made in China.
