If you're having trouble with push on Shark Bite fittings leaking, I would bet the problem is with your installation method an not with the fittings.

It's important to cut straight and deburr the tube with a proper tool before inserting it in the fitting. Also, installing the fitting is a "two step" action. You will first feel resistance as the barbs clear the tube end. A lot of folks stop there and eventually have a leak. You must continue inserting the tube until the second resistance is felt. That is the tube entering the "O" ring and making the final seal.

I also like to lube things with a little water before assembling the fitting on the tube.

Yes I have one and an assortment of pex fittings. I've been able to tighten everything up with the exception of the toilet as I've not needed to.
Great price.

There is a brass crimp ring also, but I think it's mostly used on polyethylene plumbing with brass fittings. Pex uses mostly a steel or copper ring.

I ordered this tool and fittings from Amazon. Has anyone had any experience with these?

IMHO, I think the shark bite would serve you better - Easier, extremely reliable and just Works.

I build houses and more than 1/2 my plumbers prefer the shark bites when they have a choice.

Look at the first post.

I have two of the exact same crimper from Amazon - I couldn't find the first one when I was doing a cargo trailer to camper conversion so ordered it again - sure way to find the missing one.

Used it to install a surge tank and whole house filter in my coach as well as completely plumb the cargo trailer conversion. Never had a bad or leaky crimp. never saw or used brass or copper rings either; all were stainless steel.

I do property maintenance and while I totally agree with the members stating Sharkbite fittings work great I am forced many times to run lines using a "crimp" type connection.

The bands that you posted in the original post work but I much prefer the solid crimp ring like these:

https://www.amazon.com/SharkBite-231...5Z1AS7EAH5STPA

And here is a crimping tool that has the ability to crimp different sizes:

JMHO,
I just used a Shark Bite under my sink and had a problem with it leaking if the tubing going into it wasn't perfectly in line with the fitting.

Sorry for your experience but the only Shark Bite I have seen fail is one that did not have the pipe De Burred - and the sharp edge of the plastic line cut the "O" ring causing it to Leak - Trust me they have worked in some pretty extreme Bends

Good Luck, getting under the sink with that Pex Crimper, My body would never fit

I have been using this type of clamp and pliers in the beverage industry for 40 years. We use the brand name Oetiker clamps and pliers. They make clamps for a wide range of tubing sizes. Have done it so long that I can tell when it's crimped enough. Tool also cuts the clamps to remove. Be sure to use stainless clamps, there are some plated ones out there.
