I have the ACCESS LIMITED EDITION ROLL-UP COVER. I have had it for 6 years and it works and looks the same as it did brand new. I went with this cover because I needed to load $30,000 of Ping Golf clubs to do golf demos and the soft material would allow me to extra space I needed with all the golf bags.
As far as security I have never had any problem. Yes the cover can be cut but my windows can also be broken out to get the clubs in the back seat area.

I had the Retrax cover on my F-350 and loved it. It is fairly secure, sturdy, (I stood on top of it), weather tight. When hauling my 5th wheel I could open it to any position and lock it in place. It did not block my rear window. The only drawback is that it takes up some bed space. I had a custom fuel/tool box built to fit under the retrax box. If I get another truck, I ll get a Retrax.

Before I had my 5th wheel, I used a full cap with the travel trailer. Worked well for carrying a canoe on a rack and I could put 2 bikes inside, just removing the front wheels. At times it worked well with the generator, didn't even remove it from the bed to run. Only bad part was I had to crawl in for things in the front, not good on the knees.

I miss it, but it's the trade off for a 5th wheel.

bed cover

We use a Bakflip on our 3500 Ram. It is a quad fold and it stores against the cab for towing. One time I did not flip it against the cab and damaged the Road Warrior. The cover I just folded it up 3 times and left the other portion covering the front of the bed. Truck pitched up, Road Warrior pitched down and $2600 later had a hole in the nose.
With the Road Warrior we have about 6" between bedrails and the camper. With the Bakflip folded like I did it made the distance only about 3 inches on the truck. But this was closer to the cab so I did not think an issue. But when I did the tight turn it placed the camper closer to the cab over the 3" distance not the 6" distance at the tailgate area.

So now I fold the Bakflip against the truck cab when ever we tow, which in 6 months will be fulltime.

I’ve had a Retrax cover on my current and last truck. Rolls back and locks in any position. Durable, very secure and easy to install. Not the cheapest but I’ve found paying a few extra dollars on something I’m going to have for a long time tends to pay off in the long run.

I also have a Retrax cover. They are costly but I feel that the payback is the flexibility. They are rugged, durable, secure and lockable but best of all in a matter of a few seconds you have the ability to have complete access to the bed and also the ability to load and carry large items which you cannot do with a hard shell cover and with a soft cover you have to deal with storing them. I have also had the Rolltop brand cover and I was equally happy with their product quality

And it slides right across the top of my B&W Companion hitch with about 2” clearance. With the hitch in I can put in two sets of golf clubs & a portable Traeger & lock it up without concern.

Had a 2012 f150 with a bakflip, currently have a 2015 with a Undercover Flex.....basically same thing as the Bakflip. Like them both, my next truck will have one of these again. There is no perfect solution, just the solution you like best.

Agreed. Quit trying to prove why I’m right or why mines the best some time back.

We have one like this (not sure if it is the same brand) and we really like it. It seems pretty secure when the cover and the tailgate are locked.

I prefer a hard roll-up cover. I've had three of them and the current one, a Pace Edwards Full Metal Jack Rabbit is my favorite. The channels, which mount to the bed rails, are flush making it very unlikely that your 5th wheel's pin box will ever contact them on uneven terrain.

They are top of the line cab-high bed covers. I have a Leer, the two brands are nearly identical. DW bought the optional ladder racks =$$$$.
