Pics of new (to us) 2007 Coachmen Spirit of America 27 RBS

Finally got most of the little things done to the 2007 Coachmen 27' camper we just purchased. Made a mad dash from Bozeman MT. down to Spearfish South Dakota to pick it up a couple of weeks ago. Like all used things there are things that need to be repaired, I always find that not all folks are like me when it comes to fixing things that break from either use or mis-use. So had my punch list of things that needed to be done before I would post any pics. I think over all we are happy with the purchase of this trailer and pleased with how things have come together after the repairs were done. I didn't like the fact that it had group 24 batteries so purchased group 27's to replace the 24's that were shot. In doing so the larger batteries would not fit in the respective battery tray on the front tongue of the trailer so had to cut the old tray off and build a new tray farther back to accommodate the larger batteries and their battery boxes. I am not a welder so I cut new angle iron pieces out of a couple of old bed frame rail and cut to size then drilled holes in each end and used self cutting screws to attach the rails to the tongue frame. Was pretty please with how it came out. I pulled it over to a friends shop yesterday and he welded on a drawtite hitch on the rear of the camper to pull my ATV's behind the camper. He has been a welder for a fabrication company for the last 15 years so he made sure it was attached properly to the rear I-beam frame of the camper and also to the the bottom side of the bumper. I had him take a look at the battery tray and he said that would be fine the way it is, if I was concerned with it at a later time to bring it over and he would run a bead along each end of the angle iron. I will run wiring sometime this week for trailer hook up. It looks like I just sold one of my two wheel trailers today, I have one more to sell before I can buy the 14' ATV trailer that I want. I think this will be a great camper, with the 12' slide it really increases the kitchen/living room area and makes it way more comfortable. Have just a few more things to do to it and it will be ready for the season. FF Sorry for the sidways pic.

Still a few things to do

Thanks everyone,
Yes it is growing on me more and more and I think it will be a great trailer for my wife and I. I have to get the wiring run for the rear hitch and then the rest of the things I'd like to do are pretty much cosmetic. The maroon colored graphics are really faded so when it quits raining I will mask those off and repaint. I did one earlier today and it only took me about 20 minutes, made a huge improvement for the appearance on that side of the trailer. Am really looking forward to getting out, extremely happy that the leaf springs are on top of the axles and the extra height that affords us. It will be great to get back into some of the more "Western" campgrounds we have around here. Probably going to get a portable Solar panel set up so we can survive a little longer while boondocking. We have some great spots that we never would've been able to take our 5th wheel or our old bumper pull into. Will be great to get into these spots and use the camper for home base while 4 wheeling. We have so many areas to ride and have always done day rides so will be nice to go out for two or three days and explore more back country. Kind of nice having the kids grown up. FF

One of the areas I was thinking about prompted me to look at these pics. The gal in the picture is one of our dear friends that has been battling cancer since the fall of 2013, she is coming to the end of her fight and more than likely won't make it through to summer and won't see her 50th birthday. One of the campgrounds we want to go to is just below this area. Sorry thought that I posted her pic. next one
