As long as you're talking about only Pilot or Flying J stations where you fuel at the truck pumps, then NO credit card will work under any circumstances.

There are old cards like the Frequent Fueler Advantage card that I have that will start the pump, but I would still have to go inside to pay, and therefore not receive my 5% PenFed credit card rebate.

The only card that allows you to pay at the pump is the RV Plus card, but it is NOT a credit card. I carry both, but I believe the Frequent Fueler card's pump start feature will expire at the end of the year.

I use the Flying J RV lanes every chance I get so I can receive the 5% PenFed rebate. When I can't because they're too crowded, or I'm at a Pilot station, I go to the truck pumps and use my RV Plus card and receive a .06 per gallon discount.

There are a lot of people that will knock the RV lanes, usually for one of two reasons.

1. They're too difficult to get into. My coach is only 40' with a Cherokee towed, but I have friends with 42'-43' coaches, one towing a crew cab pickup truck, that don't have any problem at all maneuvering through the RV lanes.

2. The pumps are too slow. When available I pull into the center lane and activate the pumps on the DS and PS. There are two dispensers on each pump, so I am not preventing anyone else from fueling.

Read the FAQ on the Pilot/Flying J website: Pilot RV Plus - FAQ

This link has a number of stories about Good Sam, Pilot Flying J RV Plus Card, RVC Outdoor, etc. The articles are a couple of years old, so I don't know if it's been changed.

The last article mentions having to, "After RVers have accrued 500 gallons of fuel, you will be able to unlock Pump Start to turn on the pump just by swiping your loyalty card. After registering your card, visit any Pilot or Flying J front desk to sign up for Pump Start. All you need to do is present your driver’s license to the cashier along with your Frequent Fueler Advantage card."

Pilot Flying J | RV Business

It doesn't eliminate the need to go into the counter. The RV Plus Card, issued to Good Sam members and used as a credit card paid off each month's balance, you can do it all at the pump.

I have a FJ/Pilot "My Rewards" card. If you don't have one ask for one and they will provide it at the cash register. When you pull into the "truck lanes" you simply swipe your My Rewards card (the pumps will NOT accept your credit card) and then make the selections for "truck" fuel, "DEF" if required, and then you pump your fuel. Pull forward when complete and go inside to pay... couldn't be easier...

Steve,

Your regular credit card is not going to work at the truck pumps at Pilot. Would be nice, but not allowed with their present set up.

If you use credit cards and not cash to pay for your fuel, I'm not sure why you would not want a RV Plus credit card. With the RV Plus credit card you get your discount AND pay at the pump. Works at the gas pumps and the truck lanes. No going inside.

I use the card quite a bit since there is a Pilot 2 miles from my home and the have the lowest price for gas and diesel, even without factoring the discount.

Just sayin'......

The RV Plus card discount is off the Cash Price, not the credit price. So the 6 cents per gallon is even better when using the RV Plus Card.

I have used my RV Plus Card at FJ RV Lanes and Pilot Truck Lanes. Since I am a GS Life Member I get 8 cents discount off the cash price.

A Penfed cash rewards card, when used to pay at the pump, allows for a 5% discount from the total price on the pump for the fuel after pumping. No discount is provided if you have to go inside to pay with the card. This is why he wants to use the card at the truck pumps. A 5% discount at todays fuel prices is near twice as much as the discount offered on the Flying J/Pilot credit card. The Penfed will work for paying at the pump at the RV or regular lanes at Flying J, but not at truck lanes.

So to put it simply for you, the answer to your question, "I'm trying to find how to work the pumps at a Pilot truck lane using my RV Real Value Member card an a NON Pilot/FJ credit card."

You can't.

I know you did, but the OP didn't like what was said in his first thread so he started this one, same answer as the last one.
