Nope! Decided if I put the amount of money aside each year that the warranty cost, I would be money ahead as the insurance company would!

Guess it depends on what you are buying if you know what I mean.

When a dealer pushes a service policy (they're not a "warranty" under the law unless purchased from the original vehicle maker) it makes me wonder if I should even buy the product!!
If the dealer doesn't think the product will outlast the swtandard warranty then why should I buy the product in the first place?

These " ext warranties " usually go way beyond the mfg. warranty. This gives the "warranty co " a running start.

We bought an EZCare policy with our new 40DP in 2007. We've been very happy with them. They've paid at least 8 claims and haven't denied one. Shops say they're easy to work with too.

We bought it because we were newbies and it provided us with at least a "sense" of security. It's nice to just have things taken care of when they act up and my deductible is only $50 per visit so I can have them take care of a lot of stuff.

Well generally I do not purchase an extended warranty on my vehicles. I've read lots of reports on customer complaints regarding these policies.
When I bought the Vesta I reluctantly purchased one and today I'm glad I did . They are today picking up a $2500 bill on my dash air compressor.
I still however remain unconvinced about if these warranties are worth the money. I guess it boils down to a choice. If you end up not needing to use the warranty you wasted a lot of cash for a little piece of mind.

We chose not to, fortunately we have the means to have work done if something comes up, also my son told me the insurance companies make money by taking a lot more money in than they ever pay out.

Bought a Interstate Star 7 year policy and am glad I did. I have had 8 covered repairs that total 3 times what I paid for the policy. I have posted many times on "extended RV warranties" and have always stated that you must follow the rules. Use a repair facility that works with the "warranty" companies and don't authorize repairs until they get approval for the work. I had one repair facility tell me they would do the work and I could deal with getting my money back, I refused to let them work on my RV.

I don't buy extended warranties on any other products but I will buy another one on the MH when this one expires.

Our friends bought from a private party and they then bought a policy from Good Sams.

My thoughts. First recognize this is NOT a "warranty". Its an extended service contract and they are very different from a vehicle "warranty". Second understand that the "service contract" will include the 1st year which is generally covered by the manufacturer, so they get free money year 1. Then know you are required to either do required annual maintenance, or have a shop do it and keep all receipts, just in case they ask.

I don't feel they are worth it unless you own a motorhome. Then if its a DP, they may be worth the money if you buy one from a good company and you have read and understand whats covered and the exclusions.

Two examples, I purchased a Xtra-Ride premium policy for my 5er. When I got the contract it excluded hydraulic slide systems. Well, the 5er I owned had 3 slides all hydraulic. Cancelled the contract. Have a new Arctic Fox. After the one year warranty expired had a heating problem. Determined it was the ducting. Looked at the GS policy. Found out ducting is not covered. So in addition to paying for a policy would have had to pay for the repairs myself.
