We're in a 44 foot DP - although you asked about "camping rigs". The truth is - I struggle to consider how we travel in our DP as "camping". Now granted, we like to park in places where we're often surrounded by folks who are "camping" ... but us? With a bath and a half floor plan, a residential refrigerator, microwave, Corian countertops, 4 TVs, DirecTV satellite, surround sound theatre ...and my piano - I can't tell people that I'm going "camping" without feeling like I'm lying my arse off!

We had a 40' MH but we began when the kids were small with a tent, pop up, etc. on up. Our 40-year-old kids still referred to our motorhome as our 'camper' because that's what they grew up with knowing.

Interesting observation: When we began full-timing we did so in a 27' travel trailer. We soon realized it wasn't big enough for us to live in comfortably but we didn't know what we wanted. This was in winter so we were frequenting typical 'snowbird' areas with folks living in their RVs for months. We also stayed in parks with mainly full-timers.

We did our own survey when visiting these parks on the most popular RV folks were using. Motorhomes were #1 by far. 5th wheels were double over travel trailers. We decided on a 5th wheel but ended up with a motorhome, not because the 5th wheel was a comfortable 'home' for us but because we absolutely hated driving the big truck around. We enjoy siteseeing via gravel back roads and the noisy truck scared the critters away and was uncomfortable on rocky roads. Friends got us hooked on 4-wheeling and that's when we decided to get a Jeep and motorhome. We absolutely loved it and the Jeep gave us endless fun and we met some great folks on the trails.

Everyone has different reasons on what they enjoy RVing in. Just as long as you enjoy RVing it doesn't matter what you have.

Picking up a new to us 2011 Georgetown 300FWS in a few weeks and will be selling our 2001 Georgie Boy Pursuit 2905. Removing all the supplies, clothing, cooking gear, outdoor seating and cooking stuff, books, tools and such from the Pursuit. Who knew that we could put so much stuff in a 30 ft motorhome.
