Hello, I have a Monaco Vesta 32 and I have been watching the forum on Monaco Vesta. My unit was getting very poor mileage and also the regen light would flicker. I heard a few owners talk about the calibration upgrade for the ECM, so I decided to get mine done before the warranty ran out. I can tell you there is a difference, shift patterns have change,
I notice my gas consumption at 10 gpm, up from 8 gpm. Also I feel a much smoother shift pattern, no more bunny hop starts.

Lancy.....what are the lengths of your trips? Are they all local?

Ya know you can't Fly to a Destination, For the cost to drive your MH and the Benefits are endless, Seeing the country instead of flying over it, you don't need a Hotel or Rental Car. You can bring your car with. You can Stop any-time.
I did it Boating and I got a lot worse millage doing that, than I could ever spend in the MH. I was told back then if you can't afford the gas, You don't want to own a boat. Example, 50 Foot House Boat twin 454's V-Drives and on Plane(for a HB) $600.00 for less than 100 miles
I now have a 30 ft. Land-yacht and get 8 MPG Best monies spent so far.

I had a 34' Sea Ray that got 1 mpg. I'll take my Discovery's 8.5 mpg all day long!

I got about 8 mpg on our 32' '02 Georgetown. Compared to the 6 mpg we got with our older 26' Class C, I was quite pleased. That old dog had a 460 engine with a caburetor. At altitude the mpg was only about 4.5 and there's quite a lot of altitude around here!

The EFI-equipped V-10 on the 32-footer kept the 8 mpg even going over Washington Pass on SR 20. That's 5200 ft above sea level.

Not local, long distance usually. I may attempt a second ECM with a factory tech at Monaco's Decatur, Indiana service location or let them take it to their favorite International dealer for the job.

It's not a formula--- it's a "rule of thumb ". Hence the give or take , plus or minus.

At 40K lbs and 500hp, you're moving about 80 lbs per hp. All other things being equal, You should be doing a chunk better than 8mpg. Maybe 9.5-10?

We just bought the Magna in my sig line. 47,503# dry weight and 650 hp ISX Cummins. Loaded and towing our Honda Odyssey the VMS shows 7.1 mpg overall and on the flats it was showing right at 10 mpg. I guess we can live with that as it's not much less than the Dutch Star got with 34,000#'s and the ISC 350 w/Banks

Yup. You're moving about 82 lbs per hp. 9.5 or so is about right. Not a formula, more of a guideline.

Tim i like the way you think, just about every hobby i have had, has cost me money, hunting, golf, club racing, I figure i am not on this flying rock for that long so i am not going to worry about it just go do it and have fun.

You must be flying a B747 to get 10gpm.

I am only a Class C but on our western trip last fall I bought 703 gal of gas and went 6300 miles so that is 9mpg and also ran the generator while in Yellow Stone and Grand Teton.

We now have 12k miles on the uniit and it just hums along and if there is little or no adverse wind it is about 9.5 mpg.

Now that gas is 1,90 to 2.25 I am a happy camper. I did the western trip and the gas was about 3.00. I have to gather my gas receipts and figure out mileage from our Florida trip - we wnt 2600 mi
