Port-A-Deck
for the last few years we have spent January and February in Texas .... in 2013 we met Gary Holley while camping north of Houston on Lake Conroe .... he is a full timer who makes portable decks and steps for all types of RV's .... we watched him building his decks/steps at his site and were impressed .... after speaking with two other folks in the same CG who used is decks, we became even more impressed .... we talked about ordering one of his decks for our camper but never got around to it .... in January of 2014 we were once again at the same CG and he was there .... again we took a close look at his decks and made up our minds to order one .... bottom line, we are back home in NC and have placed an for one of his 4-step decks .... according to his build schedule, ours should arrive in a couple of weeks .... I doubt we'd use it for weekend outings but do expect to use it heavily on our yearly winter trip to Texas and our summer trip to South Dakota .... it will also be used between trips when our camper is parked at home .... his deck is easy to transport and to assemble into a very strong platform

sorry, I'm not able to post pictures on this forum because we don't store pictures at some website .... this is a link to the website for the deck, in it there is a link to a YouTube video of the man who makes the decks setting one up .... they charge about $500 for the steps and just under $1,000 for the deck and steps .... I have seen others available from different companies, the closest to the Port-A-Deck that I've seen has a bit more glitz and is priced around $1,500 .... we haven't heard for sure but hope the deck will be here sometime next week

That is pretty slick and has me thinking. We don't often need the extra step but that looks pretty safe and secure for when we might.

recent knee surgery as well as other unresolved knee issues are my primary motivators in purchasing one of Gary's deck/stair systems .... as noted in the opening post, I've camped with him twice which has given us an opportunity to watch the care he takes manufacturing them .... we've also been able to talk with full-timers who have put them to extensive use and all comments have been highly favorable
