We are thinkimg about buying one of those portable ice makers. We just wondering if it's worth the money. If anybody has one sure word like to hear some input before I spend the money. If anyone has one where did you get and how much did you spend.

I bought mine from Amazon.com because I wanted the best price and the ability to return if I didn't like it. I paid around $200.00 or so. We use it all the time in the Coach and on our back deck at the house. Starts making ice right away, within 15 - 20 minutes, and only stops when it's full. Easy to keep clean. The only drawback is that it is somewhat bulky.

For us it is just as easy to buy a bag of ice.

The DW found one of them at the end of last summer at target for $99. It is great. I would even pay the $200 for one. We use it all the time. Definatly worth it.

+1 on the Target $99 ice maker! Works well. We bought it for our sister in her class C and they love it!

Thanks for the info. I just looked at Target and like the one for $249.00. It makes the first twelve cubes in ten minutes and up to 35 pounds in a day. I enjoy my rum and 7 and Vicki likes her vodka, we definitely go through the ice.

We have had ours for a few years now and love it. Must have paid for itself by now although I don't recall the price. Anytime we are camped for more than a day or two we set it out with a drinking water safe hose and fill it up as when needed. While on our winter getaway we used to go through a couple of bags of ice a week to keep my draft beer setup going but with the ice maker we rarely buy any.
If it ever stops working a new one will replace it right away.

We bought ours from Camping World several years ago but they no longer carry that model. We use it often and it works well - no problem and like said above if it goes bad we'll replace it. Well worth the dollars and convenience for two people having iced drinks but does not put out enough to keep up with four or more people having iced drinks. If we know we are having company we start it early and put ice in a zip lock type bag and make additional ice.
