Portable steps/deck

One of the things I don't like about my class A is the entry door. They are steep, narrow and impossible to navigate with your hands full.

Last week my wife slipped and went all the way to the ground and I decided to do something.

The issue is that we both still work and move every couple of months so it must be portable.

Any suggestions

Are you looking for a larger door support type handle like this:
Lend-A-Hand RV Hand Rail - Sparkling Silver - Stromberg Carlson AM-300 - Hand Rails - Camping World

or

an aluminum step like this:
Adjustable Leg Platform Step - Stromberg Carlson PA-250 - Steps - Camping World

this seems to help us when on uneven ground...

That adjustable-leg step is really nice, wide & sturdy. I've looked at it several times at my dealer but couldn't justify nearly $90 for it. Right now I've got a cheap plastic one I got from WallyWorld & it blows away with any wind.

That CW sale price looks pretty enticing. Just might have to give CW another chance.

Of course the obvious solution is to never attempt to climb any stairs with both arms/hands full. There is no way to alter the stairs I can think of; having the coach modified with a handicap entrance is an expensive solution but your DW's heath is worth the expense.
The Handicapped Travel Club is a wealth of information for modifying an RV for such use.

Hi Steve Oom,
Welcome to iRV2. I have this step.
2-Height Platform Step - Stromberg Carlson P-102 - Steps - Camping World It is a bit heavy. It does work as advertised. If I were to make the purchase again, I would buy what JohnBoyToo posted. This step was not available when I made my purchase.

I have that step in the non adjustable version. It is stable, nearly rust free (the hinge nuts rusted so I changed them to stainless) , lightweight and easy to use.

I wondered if those might be available elsewhere for less, but DH looked for them on Amazon & found them to be about the same price. The difference is that if you have an Amazon Prime membership, the shipping is free.

Thanks for the pointers, all y'all. We plan to pursue the steps for those situations where "that first step is a doozy!"

Cheers,

Sue

Hot tub steps

If you google images for hot tub steps you will see lots of ideas.

I actually have the following: https://www.google.com/search?hl=en&...sp%3B348%3B250

I cut off the holding tabs and used bolts with wing nuts to reassemble.

No No No. I didn't make myself clear. I'm sorry. In don't need a step up to my existing steps, I already have that. Made it myself

In want to eliminate the RV steps and replace them with a portable deck.

I saw one online but it is VERY expensive and I'm not sure how portable it is.

sunriservproducts.com

Has anyone seen, used or know of a similar product?

I made this myself and as a bonus, I flip it over and it holds all 4 of my jack pads ( built those too)

I don't extend my steps when using the hot tub steps. They match up with the inside steps fine. You seem to be raised pretty high in your photo. Perhaps rather than looking for a deck and its associated steps, a portable/folding ramp would work. Good Luck
