Possible New Member - passport 2014

We are looking at buying a 2018 Passport 2410 RL. I was wondering why it does not have a roof ladder. Is the roof a "non-walk on"? How do you get leaves off the slide out if you can not get on the roof? Is there any thing / issues that I need to consider before we purchase this unit?

Myself, I would definitely want the built on ladder. But,,, there are owners out there that live just fine without. Most of them carry some kind of foldable ladder for access to the roof.

As far as cleaning debris off during our usually long weekend trips, I rarely worry about that. Our slide covers catch leaves and other debris and shed them pretty well as the slide comes in. There have been a few times when one of us stood outside the slide and swept the awning roll as it came in to remove the more stubborn (sticking wet leaves for instance) debris. Of course if it is wet up there, then I always extend the slide back out after we get back home to clean it better and let it dry.

i'm 6'3" and I use a folding step ladder, and a small push broom. when folded up the ladder doesn't take up much space. Also my side out only comes out a foot and a half, hardly worth the cost for a awning install. ($800+)

Even though my DS has a rear roof ladder I carry a six foot folding ladder to reach high spots. It folds to a very small size, and is available as a 7' also.
