Red face Potty Trouble

Hey there:
I have an Aria DELUXE II toilet. I am having consistent problems with the closure slide. First it will get stuck in the open position and even after cleaning the valve blade groove in the flush drain, it will not close. I have to use the manual override handle to get it to operate again. However when I do this, the closure slide will not stay open for a regular household flush but I must hold the button for several seconds to keep the slide from closing too quickly. Is there an adjustment or setting on the manual override that I have to do to get the slide to operate normally again?
The slide is closing after the above action, but not tight enough to keep the water from leaking out of the bowl. Again I have cleaned the slide and used "O" ring lubricant on the seal but little helps.
Suggestions are welcome.
Marty
