PPL - need input

Would appreciate any feed back from anyone pro-con on "PPL motorhome" consignments of Houston Texas. I am considering consigning m 2006 Class C Cambria with them. Can send me private message at pdkuhn1@comcast.net

We sold a 5th wheel through PPL and they did a good job. They get a lot of traffic through their location on the net as well as on the lot. The whole process was quiet painless. The only thing you need to watch is any repairs you authorize them to make during check out. They flat rate the repairs and are pretty expensive.

We have looked at units there and like all RV lots, you have to be careful as they do not disclose anything other than what the seller notes in the write up.

Cool

Actually have not bought or sold there, but as a potential customer, even though I live outside of New Orleans, I have been to PPL at leat three times in the last year looking at RV's. I just met some people from Australia yesterday who told me they were headed towards florida, but were making a special stop at PPL. They do seem to attract a lot of pontential buyers and I suspect that can only be a ggod thing to someone who is looking to sell their RV....
JMHO........
FWIW....
Good Luck.

I'm curious, how long did it take to sell? We visited there last week for the 1st time and there were SO MANY of each kind of camper. Crammed them in like sardines. I wonder what the 'average' selling time is?

We sold a 1995 Avion, 36.5' 5er there in about 3 weeks at high retail. We had it at other consignment lots, Craigslist and other online list for low retail for a year and no luck.

How long it takes, depends on the type RV, condition, the current market for them, other competition on the lot and what you are pricing the unit at.

So the time to sell varies.....

We sold our 1993 Allegro Bay Class C there 2 years ago and got more than we were asking trying to sell it privately. Highly recommend them.

They sold my 2010 Rockwood 2604 TT in 2011 for what I paid for it.

We have bought 2 units from PPL and have sold 1 motorhome through them. Craigs list and other ads produced no desirable results, so we went to PPL. They take care of everything. From showing the vehicle to the paperwork, and they seem to be very effective. With today's high cost of fuel. it doesn't seem to be an ideal time to sell any RV. PPL can give the exposure to vehicles that isn't possible through local ads. They have recently expanded to a second location near New Braunfels, TX.

I made an offer on one and decided it wasn't what I wanted, they refunded my deposit with no issue.

Later I made an offer on another and bought it, it was an easy deal but they won't negotiate. You are allowed to get someone to inspect it and I suppose you can ask for repairs. They said the person selling ours owed so much there was no negotiation. Still even with the repairs I had to do it was a very nice coach. I kept it a year and a half and put 20k miles on it. Sold it to my insurance agent and they love it. They are a no pressure organization but I would enourage anyone buying to have it inspected.

My salesman said what amazes me is less then 5% have them inspected and you are talking motorhomes up to the hundreds of thousands of dollars.

I would not hesitate to go back to them again for either a purchase or sale.
