I never dump until the tank is fullish. We usually only weekend camp and it usually takes three weekends before the black tank is full enough to worry about. If the dump station is empty I will take advantage of it. If we are in a hurry to get packed out or there is a line I just wait it out till next time. I use no chemicals, no special tricks, and have no problems. I only use the black flush if there isn't anyone waiting behind me. When we are lucky enough to have full hook-ups I will run the black tank flush for 30-45 minutes. My tank sensors are inaccurate even when working so I don't even look at them anymore. I can tell when it's time by the sound.
