Prevost

6 months ago i didn't know this word.
a friend with a newell listed off 3 top brands.
my coachmen wasn't on the list.
prevost was.

last night we drove up to a place to hear a group sing.

sitting outside was a beautiful red huge coach... Prevost.

was that really 5 air conditioners on top?

now, i've seen one!
hmm. if i save 50$ a month... how long would it take to get enough $$ ?

Do you want a new or used one? New - maybe 2500 years. I saw one a couple of years ago at Cherry Creek State Park in Denver. He was pulling a 30-35 foot matching painted trailer. Definitely an eye opener. While I was walking past, he backed out his BMW convertible! Montana plates!

We met the owner of one of the major Prevost converters at the Tampa RV Supershow. He explained that a major part of his business is “remanufacturing” older Prevost.

He advised to look for a ten year old unit, which in good shape should go for $350 to $600k. Then add $200k and he can give you back a “like new” Prevost for less than half the cost of a new one. Not sure if those nbrs are real.

My DW loves Prevost so I asked her one day, "Do you know the big difference between a Prevost and our RV?" Well she said, "No," so I said, "The big difference is in the repair costs." Now mind you, I have no idea what the repair costs of a Prevost would be but at the price they are sold for I just assume it is a lot.

They sure are pretty though.

We happened to pull into a park having a Prevost rally, they had 82 on site. All beautiful coaches, gives me something to dream about.

Years ago the late DW and I decided we'd never buy a high end RV even if we won the lotto. Well, never won the lotto but settled on a nice CC anyway with a welded steel semi-monocoque chassis and welded steel superstructure with more HP than most. Only thing missing is a 10 speed trans.

Does Prevost make RV's?

I understood that they were only a bus maker...a piece of Volvo.
Then companies like Marathon, Outlaw and others convert the bus.

The bus is SO great for a RV because it is a purpose built monocoque shell unlike every RV built on a bare chassis...like a unibody car vs. old school body on frame.

As a side note...REV industries has recently signed an exclusive agreement with Daimler-Benz (Mercedes) to use Setra bus bodies for new never seen RV's.

This seems to be a monopoly breaker which MIGHT impact price point.

Safe travels

Yes Prevost are nice for sure but I can't see another million plus on top of what I already have.
But New Prevost buyers don't think in $$$ I think its a different pay range or something.

From the Prevost website. Official converters:
Emerald Luxury Coaches
Featherlite Coaches
Liberty Coach
Marathon Coach
Millennium Luxury Coaches

Back in my work days, I occasionally traveled I-65, and every once in a while would see unpainted Prevost Shells driving toward Nashville. My assumption was that there was a converter in that area to make coaches for the country & western music industry. I also had to run 85 MPH or more to stay out of their way...

Those going to Nashville could have been destined for Hemphill Bros.
Hemphill Brothers Coach Company | Luxury In Motion

They supply many of the biggest names in the Entertainment Biz.

Prevost

There are certainly a LOT of Prevost in the Nashville area - Prevost has a service center just north of the city. There are simply too many customizers to even list but here is a shop that specializes in reselling the entertainer coaches.

entertaining! informative! polite! i loved them all.

the owner commented (unsolicited) that he had just spent 8500 at the repair shop.

yes... these buyers are in a different financial world from me!

but, if i win the lottery, i would go look!
