In MA, plates are $50, but the excise tax per year is figured on assessed value of the rig. Our 06 National Surf Side cost us $279 this year.

I own a 2007 Itasca Ellipse 40DP. In 2010 when I was leaving California, they wanted $2400 for plates. I changed my domicile to Texas. This year they were $340.

Mine were $302 here in California and I was glad to pay it.

Let's see...I never have to winterize. I can and do RV 12 months out of the year.

I don't buy winter clothes nor do I own a snow shovel.

I'm one hour to the Sierra mountains and three hours to the Pacific Ocean.

My total gas and electric bill is $135 on average per month for all 12 months of the year.

My cars never rust because there's no salt on my roads.

I'm a happy camper!!

Plates (registration) are about $40 yr, but personal property taxes are another $150, and not to mention insurance. I think this is rediculous for a 23 yr old coach !!!

Here in SC the cost of plates is a meaningless number. We also have to pay Personal Property tax on the mh/tt/5ver/... So I may have paid $30 for the actual tag, but several hundred for the pp tax. This tax is based value of the vehicle. The more it's "worth" the more you pay.
