Price for used Onan Gen

I would like to sell my inboard 4kW Onan gas generator. The run time on meter has 50 hrs, in a 2008 MH. I will try to sell it while I am in Florida for a month. I'm thinking on CraigsList or similar. What kind of price would you put on a unit like that? Are there commercial places that might buy it? Is there even a market for these?

Thanks

Try Lazy Days. Why are you selling it?

There's a market for everything. I bought a used 4k onan for about $375 3 years ago. 50 hours means that it hasn't been properly maintained most likely. It may still be in great shape though. If I was in Florida I would look at it.

Good luck

I would suggest asking $650 and accept $400, asking any more than $650 and most people will not even call to look at it or make an offer.

Commercial used parts places get bug bucks for gensets. Here's one at Visione (a big RV salvage yard dealer) for $1200.
Generators ONAN 4.0 RV GENSET GENERATOR FOR SALE CALL 606-843-9889 Onan Generators For Sale | Generators | Power Generators For Trailers | Visone RV | visonerv.com

And this one:
MachineryTrader.com | ONAN 4.0BFA-1R/16004A For Sale

In a private sale I would think $500-$600 would be reasonable, but buyers of used stuff on craigs list and ebay are usually bargain hunters and unwilling to pay top dollar, regardless of condition.

I want to sell it because I don't use it much. Do yearly maintenance for nothing really. My solar set up charges my lithium batteries really fast and honestly I could use the space for more storage. I would rather have a small quieter portable for those times I might really need one.

Can't help you on price, but I will say that our generator saved our bacon, literally.
We had a four day power failure after a storm a few years back at our home in Illinois. I brought the motorhome to the house and ran an extension cord into the house, ran the fridge, some lights, and our two fish tanks for four days nonstop. Was darn glad to have it too.

So you want to remove it and sell it because you don't use it? My opinion is I wouldn't. You'll have a harder time selling the coach when the time comes and you will take a big hit if you do find a buyer. Traveling down the road you won't be able to run the air either. JMO.
