Prism Coachmen side camera

I have a 2015 Class C Prism on a MB Chassis. It is equipped with side cameras that are activated by the blinkers. One camera is not working and the shop said they can replace it for $950 which to me is outrageous. Has anyone else experienced this and do you have any suggestions as to a cheaper solution.

Mine was RVS. I replace the side camera on my Forester myself. The camera cost ~ $100.

Side Camera

I found some generic cameras on eBay for $15 each. Glued them into the original housings and figured out the wires without any problem. They work great.

I, likewise, have a 2015 Prism. Honestly, I find the side cameras pretty useless, wish I could figure out how to just have the rear camera on when I change lanes. Mirrors work fine! Agree with the other posters - just try a generic replacement camera. You could always swap sides, if the one that is not working is the one you depend on. ST

When my right camera stop working, turned out to be the plug in connection had come unplug behind the monitor. I agree with Loggenrock, I would much rather watch my tow vehicle as I make a turn. There's nothing to be seen through the camera, that I can't see in my mirror.
