Privilege not a right

I will probably get flamed by a few people for posting this, but a belief I have held for ages has just been reaffirmed.

Owning and driving an RV is a privilege, not a right. If you don't have enough brain cells to drive one, don't own one. Cutting across two rv spots at an angle to switch to a different aisle and taking out the power box and water spigot in the process should be grounds for barring you from owning one.

He cut power for a second as a result, and now there is a nice lake outside. (happened in the two spots next to us)

*shakes head in disgust*

Judging by the noise, and the subsequent spark after, he must have gone past it, then turned into it, scraping the spigot along the side until it snapped, allowing his tow to take out the power box. My wife, who saw the spark, said when it happened, it looked like he went over a curb.

And people wonder why I feel safer with someone that wants to actually take a class on how to drive one. But most tell them to just get in and "find a parking lot and get used to the way it feels" when they ask about classes for RV schools.

At least on other forums that's what they are told ....

Gee, I don't feel so bad now!
At our favorite camp ground the electric/TV pedestals are almost always right in line with a berm separating the sites. On this one (#107) it's about 5' from the berm, but the water is in the middle of the berm. I watched the water and thought it was in line with the power/TV pedestal too. I backed into the electrical/TV pedestal dead center with the hitch and knocked it part way over. As soon as I saw it I moved over and put it back vertical.
I finished setting up and drove to the office to let them know and told them I'd pay for the damage. Somewhat later they came by and looked at it. The office woman said it didn't look to bad and if they didn't have to call an electrician that wouldn't be any charge. Since everything still worked we left it at that.
The next time up there I asked about the damage, the owner was there and he said they did have to call an electrician but there wouldn't be any charge. I asked him several times if he was sure and he said no charge. He did sound a little put out though!!.
Anyway. we've been back several times since and plan on going back again, but even if we'd needed to pay we'd still go back.
I did the damage, owned up to it and was ready to pay. Not everyone will do that!

Well he's not too bad. At least he did it in one shot. We had one in Yuma a few years ago that was backing his MH in and he runs over and snaps the water fawcet. The park fixed it and handed him a bill which he paid. Two weeks later same guy pulls in and this time he runs over the power pedestal.
When the park hands him the bill for this he refuses to pay. His insurance did finally pay. He is on the Do Not Admit list.

Yeah, I can understand backing up incidents if they are reasonable mistakes, but this person took it to a whole new level lol

We need a picture of him and his rig so we can identify him when we see him coming and get out of his way.

I've always been amazed that you can buy an RV as big or bigger than a bus and just drive off, even though some have never driven anything bigger than a sedan.

We watched this guy come into the CG and there was a BIG sign with arrow saying one way That's right he turned the wrong way and took the gate post down and messed up 3 of his bay doors. When he was leaving he ran over a picnic table never stopped just kept right on going.
His wife came back about an hour later to find the owner and pay for the damage.
Spoke to the CG owner and he said he was a regular customer and just about once a year he would break something. Also said the he had just purchased the MH to replace his TT.
