Problem with step

I have`a 2007 Bounder. Starting new trip today - last used the motor home two weeks ago. After pulling into spot for the night the step didn't come out the first time. The second time it came out. The third time it came out a little way and is now stuck. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Determine who makes the step and then check online for a trouble shooting guide. I believe most manufactures provide one that will at least get you started.

Try lubricating all the pivot points, cycle it and lube again while lubing it.

This morning the step is working fine ... perhaps the heat - 100s - expanded the metal and captured some dirt or something like that ... now that it's much cooler - 60s - things are back to normal ... just a thought.

I will defiitely take everyone's advice and hose off the mechanism and grease it. Does a nyone have a suggestion on the right type of grease?

THANKS!

I use a product sold by Kwikee for their steps called KwikLube. It sprays on as a liquid and dries as a waxy material. You can find it on line by Googling it.

It has worked well for almost ten years now.

That sounds just like LPS #2 or 3. Good stuff.

Mine behaved like that when the batteries were low.

You might want to check to be sure your batery is charging while under way. Perhaps after two weeks it was low and did not recharge on your drive; assuming you are plugged in now maybe it recharged over night.

Just a thought.
