Products to use to wax TT & decals

I recently purchased my first fiberglass TT. I am going to wash & wax it this weekend. The guy at the RV store said to not use wax on the decals, rather use another product specifically for decal care. Is this necessary – what experience do you long time fiberglass owners have to share and what products do you recommend?

I've used Protectant 303 on everything (fiberglas, rubber, plastics, decals etc ) on my coach for over 10 years. Its easy to apply and remove. I buy it at Camping World for like $53 a gallon, sounds pricey but a RV is a pricey investment. I can do my 28' coach problably twice with that amount so its cheap insurance in my book. It also makes it alot easier to wash which is nice too !

The man speaks the truth. Vinyl decals and wax don't work well. Not sure why, but know it is true.

I would checkout the internet and do some research. Boats use a lot of vinyl lettering and graphics too. Might be good to find out what they recommend.

Sorry not more input, but I do know wax is not the best way to clean vinyl graphics in the long-term.

I found this on the net. Sounds reasonable to me.

Can I wax or wash my vehicle right after I install the decals?
For washing, you need to wait a couple days in the winter. Just one day in the summer (let it get some sun). If you use the 'wet method' for installation double the waiting period. For waxing, wait 5 days. If you used the wet method or installed during winter time, wait 10 days. But be careful! Some waxes have strong solvents and cleaners that can eat at the edge of the vinyl. Especially if you allow wax buildup on the edge, this can become a problem. That being said, be careful and you'll do just fine. Note: while waxing may not hurt the decal, the decal does not need waxing.
