Propane refill
We are parked for several months - but living in full time. We neglected to fill the propane tank completely before parking - actually we didn't know we would end up renting here for so long. Are there options for refill other than driving TO the tank?
Also - are there any particular suggestions for maintenance or care of engine or house that we should know? I know about starting the gen once a month. But anything else?

Home propane delivery services - yellow pages, google, etc.
Engine, genny, etc. should be exersised periodically. Batteries need to be maintained.

Extend A Stay Propane Adapter Kit on Sale - PPL Motor Homes
This will allow you to connect a portable bottle to your motorhome, or you might be able to get a local propane supplier to bring their truck to you -- if they carry the correct fittings.

I don't know about other parts of the country, but when I called, they all said nothing less than 100 gallons for a service call.

I should have mentioned this as well. It does usually does mean nothing less than a 100 gal tank for a service call.

around here the minimum is 50 gallons. You pay for a full 50 even if you get way less. Convenience costs...

It is kind of a PIA to break camp after extended stays but if you pack up and drive to a propane supply that can fill by volume not weight (weight only works with small tanks) you could kill two birds with one stone. Run the generator on the trip and you will exercise it plus the engine and trans.

And actually, the motorhome needs to be driven for at least 30 minutes every 4 to 6 weeks to get everything up to temperature and lubricate all of the seals.

Cummins says not to bother even starting the engine if you can't drive it at least 30 miles, otherwise just let it sit.

We are full time in our coach. The local gas co. comes out and fills mine as I need it. Each time we get around 30 gals. No extra charges. Most gas co. I've talked to will come out and fill your tank if you are in their area for an extended amount of time.

The ability to get the tank refilled on site depends on the state, and in some cases the county or city/township you are praked in, (local legal restrictions may apply) and not being a lawyer or aware of where you are parked I can't advise more than that. Whomever fills the park's tanks can.. The park may also have rules by the way.
Extend-a-Stay... Is what I use.
