I was looking at getting a 4 pounder last year, but the cheapest one I could find was $65. I got a 20 pounder full of propane for $23 instead.

I'm not cheap, but There's no way I'd pay $70 for something that works better than a pot of hot water. AND the water does not need batteries when you want to use it......

Guess I should not have paid all that money for a RV to start with-wouldn't have to worry about the propane!!

I have used this with 60 lb freon tanks. Take a can of carb cleaner and mist the side of the tank. Using an infrared thermometer measure temp of cylinder top to bottom. Where the temp goes up there's your level. With practice you can find the level within 1/2 inch of where the fluid level is. As the carb cleaner evaporates, the tank will get cold. The liquid lp will not allow the tank sides to cool as much.
