Must be nice ... I just got back from a quick trip to the storage lot to fire up the Aqua Hot for the night. We've got snow falling and forecasted temps in the upper 20's for tonight.

The site with the tree sounds absolutely perfect!!! That's where we'd go, for sure.

I have to agree with the others. Shade. I like to sit outside and a shady spot makes it more comfortable. The dropping of acorns doesn't bother me at all, and we've never had squirrels take up residence on the slides. Not all campgrounds trim the branches, but go look over the site and if you see a problem, ask the campground to cut them down. Gravel sites don't bother us at all, as long as they are reasonably level. We invested in tire covers to protect them, for when we are at one location for any length of time, especially if they are in the sun. Hope you enjoy the remainder of your stay.

We were staying in a state park in Iowa and there were tons of low hanging trees. We found the park manager and showed him the problem trees and he gave us permission to trim as much as we wanted. This state park was in really rough shape and they had a bad water problem, having to replace their water pumping station. So their limited man hours and funding went to that. The manager was thrilled that we were willing to trim some trees for him. We do not mind trees near our site but do not want them hanging over our RV. This is our home and we do everything we possibly can to avoid damage to it.
