Thinking about removing the sink and cabinet to make room for changing and using the restroom without banging your knees.

Anyone done this?

It sounds like this may be your first RV and you are beginning to learn the likes and dislikes of the layout. My suggestion is to tough it out for a few more months and begin looking for a new layout that fits the things you learned on this one. You really do not want to make modifications like removing the bathroom vanity unless you plan to keep this RV forever because it will destroy the resale value and limit your market to those that don't want a place to wash up in the bathroom.

Although I am relatively new to rv'ing. This is my second RV. I know that each one I'm going to end up modifying anyway. There just isn't any floor space anymore in the bathroom. I think there's literally less than 3 sq feet to lay your feet down. It's just over crowded. It's a bad design. So, I shall fix it!!

Between the raised panels to hide the pipes. The large sink vanity. And the bulky under sink storage. Half of which is blocked off by plywood to hide the ptrap

Thinking about a floating small corner shelf with a smaller sink. Of just a small wall mount

I think your small floating sink would work well. I would carefully remove the old sink and cabinet, wrap it up and store it away for when you sell the RV.

That is what I was thinking. Our last camper I modified and gave the new owner all the old "stuff" so of he did not like my mods he could build it back!

Some of these bathrooms are tiny. The floating sink would be a good idea as long as there was enough support for it for travelling. If the MFG had put the sink by the commode and the door where the sink is there would have been plenty of room. I suppose there is something out of the picture that kept them from doing that.

Generally speaking the walls of RVs won't support much of anything which is why things are on the floor. This is hindsight but RVers need to spend time in a prospective buy pretending to use everything to see if they "fit" or can use the space. Any alteration should be temporary and be able to return to stock condition. Most future buyers will run away from altered products and few will find your alteration acceptable.

Completely understand and agree. I won't do anything that can't be undone. And yes there is the kitchen on the right side where the sink goes. So door placement was not optional.

"KyleC"....I learned early on when looking for an RV, sit on the toilet and make sure there is room to do your business!
