After many trips to many rv dealers, after much time spent researching online, after a test drive or two, after speaking to complete strangers who just happened to be getting into (or out of) their rv in various parking lots, I finally pulled the trigger, signed on the line, and on Thursday I go for my walk-through.

Wow--what a ride! And I'm not talking about in the rv! Yesterday two good friends who have RECENTLY purchased 3 different TT went with me to Camping World to check out the 2009 Winnebago Chalet 24vr that I have been looking at. Couldn't have made a wiser choice than to take them. They had that salesman opening this, starting that, connecting one thing after another, answering one question after another. He earned his salary that day!

So, at this point I am happy with the rv, OK with the price, adjusting to having another vehicle payment, and looking forward to hitting the road!

But, now I have to find storage and insurance. Any suggestions on either topic are welcome! I learned long ago to ask the experts, FIRST!

Congratulations on the new RV kmesaaz. Great choice to take the friends along to help. Now get out and enjoy this Great country. What part of it are you in? Interested in your club affiliation.

I live in Mesa, AZ, outside of Phoenix. Prior to the Chalet I owned two popups, an Aliner and a teardrop, so websites/clubs (I guess at least the Aliner organization was a club?) that I joined were of that type. Right now I have joined rvamerica.com and irv2.com, if I understand your question.

My travels have been throughout AZ and UT, lots of time in Yellowstone, and a recent trip to Glacier. I also go to Alaska, but that involves a flight, rental car, and then tent camping or b & b. It will be interesting to see what opportunites/changes travelling in the Chalet will present.

BTW, the rental company decals on the cabover appear to have been painted over (?) but are still visible. Any suggestions on how to get them removed?

We're spending Feb/Mar in Apache Junction.

We storage our MH in Chandler at RV SuperStorage (across the street from Love's @ Wild Horse Pass and I 10) Our cost was 169 a month but smaller units cost less. We were very pleased with the place since there's a roof over every storage space.

From what I've seen, the east valley has a predominance of RV sales and RV storage places. Drive down Main towards AJ and you'll have 6 to chose from (and 20 more places within 2 miles).

Enjoy the new unit. Don't just park it. Use it and see our beautiful country.

Howdy and welcome to the forum. Congrats on the beautiful new RV; hope you enjoy it. Check around your area for storage facilities...there are usually a lot of them and pricing is all over the place. As for insurance, we went with Allstate because that's where our other vehicles are insured. You might want to look at roadside assistance plans as well...like Coach-net.

Hey...congrats and here's to many smooth and safe travels. Covered storage is far more desirable, but also more expensive. I pay $71 a month for covered storage in TX. A roof overhead protects the unit from harmful UV rays. Constant sun exposure plays havoc on the roof, tires, seals, plastics, nearly everything. As far as insurance goes, shop around. Progressive seems to be popular, but I personally got a better deal from GEICO.
