Purchased pre-owned Motorhome May 29, 2014 - still haven't had delivery

Has anyone experienced this? We purchased our pre-owned 98 Monaco Dynasty on May 29 relaying to the Salesman that we were going on a Family trip July 12th, it's now been over a month. Water problems placed a major hiccup in the PDI (doesn't the water, etc get checked when they take one in?) We had to cancel our trip with our Family, it was to be a Celebration of my Dads life who passed a year ago. What can I do, I still want a Motorhome for future trips but right now I really don't want to take delivery through this Dealer.

As with most politicians you can only tell if the sales people are lying when their lips move. Had the same thing happen to me at a well known dealership in Oregon. Missed going to the Baloon Fiesta and lost my deposit etc.

Before you walk away just make sure the dealer has no recourse. They are banking on your overwellming desire to have this motorhome so of course they feel they can walk on you. If you can, talk to the owner first and give him the chance to "Make it Right".

Did you already pay for it and they are fixing the water issue, or do you just have a down payment? What does your contract say with regards to delivery to you? What is the water issue and is that in the contract? Seems like they are not working in a timely manner. Is this the type of dealer that has their own service people or just a sales lot.

Delay of Delivery

My husband and I had the same problem. I called the corporate office multiple times and that did no good. If it is too late for you to back out or if you still want the RV then you might have to do what we have had to do. We have emailed them at least once a week or called. We found out the hard way, out of sight out of mind. They were taking their time fixing our RV because we didn't seem to be in a hurry for it. So they kept bumping us. We are currently waiting on more parts to come in. We either call or email at least once a week for an update. We make sure that they know we aren't going anywhere until they get the RV right.

This is a Dealership with their own Service Dept. We have already paid for the unit, contracts drawn. The only saving grace is we are not responsible for any repairer or replacements because we chose the pre inspection delivery. The water issues so far are the "motherboard" of the system was cracked, manifold was cracked both replaced now the next step is pressurize the system to see if that's all the damage. Good idea to check the contract I'll look at it with Hubby! Thanks

Raise the pressure on the dealer concerning the timeliness of the repair. You had a reasonable expectation of prompt, even immediate, delivery when you paid for it. Encountering a problem requiring repair justifies some delay, but in my opinion 6 weeks is far beyond a reasonable time for any fix. Go direct to the General Manager or owner and tell them you feel they are not acting in good faith to fulfill the sales contract. If that doesn't get their prompt attention, contact a lawyer.
