Purchasing new Tiffin

Just curious if anybody has any suggestions as to what is an approximate percentage to ask off on Tiffin’s MSRP. Looking to buy a new Phaeton 40 ft IH.

Ask for 30% off. One ad for La Mesa in San Diego has a new 2018 Phaeton 40AH listed at $327k on sale for $239k which is almost 28% off sticker.

How good are your negotiating skills? Don't be at their mercy so bone up on it. You can buy a very good used Phaeton for tens of thousands less new and have loads of room for negotiation.

Yes, the 25-30% reduction off list is reported in many posts. Hope that's true. Pat

We ordered ours from one of the dealers that offer nearly 30% off. We filled out our option list and had three dealers price it. Chose one, and unit arrived in just over 3 months. We drove the Jeep down to pick it up, towing a tiny UHaul behind it with household supplies. Painless and a good deal. I recommend the approach highly.

What year? Are you looking at an 18 or 19? An 18 should be had for a minimum of 30%. CW and other are advertizing discounts of that amount.

Oh, and make sure the MSRP listing is 5he one from Tiffin, not a mock up from the dealer that includes a bunch of other charges. The 2019 units have been delivered for a month or two, so an ‘18 should be at a really good price.

Divide the MSRP by 1.4, that's about what the dealer paid.

We also bought our new 2018 RED 37PA from one of the "big" three dealers (Sherman) and got 29% off with NO dealer prep, which can be up to a $800 rip off at other dealers. Great experience and our next one will be bought the same way.

Oh and we traveled by air and car over 2400 miles to get it.

Their first offer will be MSRP, which is unacceptable to you. Offer them 40% off, which is unacceptable to them. They will then counter offer, they will not call the police or ask you to leave. That is what negotiations are all about. Don't worry about insulting them or hurting their feelings by playing them against one of their competitors because they do not have any feelings. Be as greedy as they are. If you walk away and work out a better deal with one of their competitors, they lost. And remember that every single aspect of the transaction is negotiable.

My son is a Cummins diesel mechanic, who works on a lot of motor homes. He said all are junk, except Tiffin.

Sorry, no disrespect to your son, but Tiffin is in the middle of the pack.

There are several, well known Tiffin dealers that will give you a discount around 28% off MSRP. These are no-hassle dealers who move a very large volume of Tiffin Coaches. Figure out how you want the coach equipped and send a RFQ to Sherman RV, Sherman, MS; Davis Motorhome Mart, Memphis, TN; and Marlin-Ingram, Montgomery, AL.

I would not buy "off the lot". Since this is a large $ purchase, order what you want. While you will have a wait of 8-12 weeks, you will get a better dealer overall since the dealers will not have to pay finance charges.

I concur with what luvlabs advises.

We ordered a 2019 Allegro Bus and saved a ton by going the order route. We specified exactly what we wanted.

Be advised, the waiting is the tough part!!!!!!

One of the dealers offered us a great deal on a 2019 Phaeton on their lot, but we wanted the Bus in different colors.
