Ouch, I can see why you're frustrated. Looks like your option is going to be two trips. I hope this motorhome is exactly what you are looking for, so at least the excitement of purchasing the coach will help lessen the frustration of getting it home and registered.

I came home on the sellers plate and registration with bill of sale. Added it also to my insurance before starting trip. Drove to DMV on why home and took care of registration. They require DMV to look at vin # here in OK. when I drove in my driveway I called seller and he removed insurance. I then mailed him the plates the net day.

Side note: I lived for one year in MA

Dealers in Massachusetts do not issue temporary tags.

Temporary tags do not exist in Mass. You need to have your new tags in hand before you can drive off the lot. Most dealers here offer that service for you - to go get tags at the DMV.

If you are going to re-use your old tags, you either have three or 7 days, I forget which, to get the paperwork done.

In NH, you have to have a valid NH address and license to get temp tags.

And yes, this really sucks. I've now been waiting 7 weeks to have my out of state sale completed. The Bank has now sent incorrect paperwork for my title (to bring to the DMV for tags) three days in a row!

The last coach I sold, Blue Bird Wanderlodge, we went to the bank and handled the transfer of money. Then to NJ DMV since I had the title and they gave the Michigan resident a Temp tag after proof of Ins. It was really easy.

As it should be. But not if you live in Massachusetts!

We bought the coach. It's really in amazingly excellent condition.

But it's still in New York and we're back home in Massachusetts with all the paperwork. I'll take care of the insurance and registration on Monday, then I need to figure out when and how to get back out to New York to bring our new baby home.

Don't forget. You need an inspection sticker too. I am taking mine to a large truck dealer.

Thanks, but not quite past the inconvenience yet. I need to take care of the registration on Monday then get back out to New York and drive the rig home. It can all be dealt with but it's a huge time suck.
