Ahhhh, but the excitement begins when you crawl behind the wheel and bring her home. You will soon forget what a nuisance it was to get her home. Glad you were able to purchase and soon be on your way to enjoying this great lifestyle.

Indeed! My current tentative plan, depending on whether there are any hiccups dealing with RMV, is to take the bus out to NY on Thursday and drive the RV home.

The bus is a slow PITA, but it avoids DW having to drive the car home. She's not a fan of long drives.

I'll take the RV straight to a state park camping area 10 miles from home so we can spend the weekend trying everything out.

Husband went on a weekend & took a friend with him. Bought him dinner, lunch & $100 for his time... That was from NJ to N Carolina though... Might be better than a bus.

Bus is cheap; $44 from Boston to Utica.

And you meet "interesting" people riding The Dog!

I've got the rig insured, paid the sales tax, got the plates, rented a place to park it. Now all I need to do is find the time to get back out to New York and pick it up.

Was hoping to do that on Thursday but now I'm working (that's the freelance life!). Now I'm hoping nothing comes up for Friday.

Made It

We finally made it back out to New York today to pick up the motorhome!

Parked at a NYS Thruway rest area:

If the title is cleared I'd go to the DMV in Mass before I travel back. Be sure you have Insurance on it and if you have no lean on it your Ins co should only require liability unless you want comp as well. I'd and ask them for a vehicle temp transfer plate to travel back to mass. You should be able to do the same if you want to use the DMV in Ny. I did that years ago with a new auto from NY to NH. I was living in NH at that time and the dealer was an old friend. Once you get to your home state you will need to go to the DMV and do the paperwork as the Temp usually only is good for 30 days.

You're a wee bit late to the party this time K9Piper; we've already hashed all this out. We had to make two trips to New York; one to complete the sale and get the title and bill of sale, then another trip back after I registered it in Massachusetts to pick it up and drive it home.

Massachusetts does not issue temp tags, nor does it recognize temp tags from any other state, and driving on temp tags here is considered driving an unregistered vehicle, which voids your insurance and could lead to having the vehicle impounded.

I couldn't figure out how to embed photos from Google Photos in posts here, but here's a link to a blog post with some photos:
