Congratulations! I also retired 5 months ago. I'm 45 and worried about being bored but I stay active around the house. I enjoy the freedom to do what I want and if it doesn't get done today, there is tomorrow.

Enjoy it!

Well done!! I assume, from your username that you are retired military. If true - thanks for your service!! Maybe time for a second career!

DH and I are retiring in March. Dan will be 65 and I'm only 60 - but it is time. We've paid off everything and are down to one S&B and the motorhome (three cars, but will probably keep all three - Dodge Ram as a toad to carry our cricket, BMW (for fun and local road trips); and a Jeep for the roads in New Orleans (where our S&B is). Currently planning a 4-5 month trip out west (Arizona, New Mexico, Colorado, Utah, Montana and Wyoming) starting in May. Life is good .....

Congratulations on nearing the finish line! Your 4-5 month journey sounds heavenly. X2 on "life is good".

DW and I crossed the finish line in August of this year. We both turned 65 earlier in the year, and came to the decision that although we loved our careers..."it was time".

Today marks one month since I last clocked out of my job permanently and entered retirement.

Correct. Retired with 24 years active service. Also 100% disabled from the VA.
