Congratulations! I just retired in June at 62. My DW still has to work a couple more years so limited to summer travel (she's a teacher) and weekends. Retirement is great and don't miss working at all. No problem staying busy.
Enjoy your hunt for a motorhome. Bought our first and only motorhome in 2014 and decided to go slightly used. Saved lots of money.

Stephen,
Congratulations on the retirement! I'm about 14 months behind you and can't wait. Already have the MH and plan to use it as often as possible until then.
Good Luck finding the right rig for you. Enjoy your retirement. Lynne

Congratulations from one Stephen to another! Our 2 year retirement anniversary will be in January. We are having a blast in the fulltime RV mode. It is certainly not problem free, but we figure that's all part of the adventure. Enjoy and safe travels to you all!

Congrats on the retirement, it is an exciting time and you won't regret it at all. I did it three years ago, and never looked back. It is so nice not being attached to the cell phone for those emergency calls. We spent about two years looking for the right MH for us. We started out looking used but never found what we really wanted or in the condition we wanted, so we ended up buying new and got what we really wanted. Take your time looking and do the research on the front end and you will end up with the MH that works best for you.

Congratulations! I've been putting my application together to submit next week. Will leave at the end of January.
We purchased our coach in late June this year. Looking forward to putting on a few miles.
My wife will work a couple more years so I'm hoping she will finance some trips for me in the mean time!
Good luck with your search. This is a great place to learn before you buy!

Just remember the mantra when your old company calls and wants help with a sticky problem. Tell them, "Certainly, I'll come assist you in this problem for my standard consulting fee of $______ per hour/day etc. Now what can I help you with?"
Congrats on your retirement. I "retired" from my last career and became an . . . Wait for it, an ARTIST (moderator, please excuse the cuss word), you know, the vocation that no father want to have his daughter come home and tell you she is dating, well musician is on that list too!
Anyway, now busier than ever, and don't know how I ever found them time for a full time job before! Take care, and Good Luck!

Put in my retirement notice today..
Congratulations on the retirement. DW and I both retired on Aug 06 of this year. As my screen name says...we are Having A Blast !
Take your time in finding the perfect coach for you. Like Mike and Cha, our perfect coach was new. We just didn't find THE coach for us until we found our first and last coach.
New or used...hope that you enjoy the process of finding it.

Congratulations!!! After 37.5 years with a major oil company, I retired at the end of September at age 58.5. We are currently on our maiden voyage in our new (to us) coach. Good luck to you. Take time to stop and smell the fresh air!!

I walked in on my 55 birthday laid badge on chiefs desk and said well I retired today. That was 15 years ago We turned 100,000 miles on the used 42' Monaco dynasty yesterday and it runs just fine.
The living room is nothing like the factory messed up but now it suits our needs just great. I put in res refer, pulled J lounger and have dual recliner love seat, removed other couch and put in computer desk and eurochair, got rid of Monaco idea of dining area and have free standing drop leaf table. Kitchen, bedroom bath are still same basic plan. I did put in all led lighting. Hope you like to tinker because motorhoming is what do I want/need to look at today.
Have your wife spend time in several floor plans, I would go 40' or longer and go ISL 400 or better. We do not like the newer two bathroom dumb idea coaches but were only have two antiques and one attitude tiny puppy .
Have no interest in driving to Alaska or Hawaii but have been in all the other 48. We have a great country and no TSA bs to deal with.....
I was also a manager for NWA for a few years and flew way to much for my wifes tastes.
Plan join FMCA read the online back issues and see what trips your trigger and think about renting a coach for a month and go see what you like dislike before you settle on a rig..
ENJOY

Hi StephenW,
Retiring. Huge mistake, you know! Once you retire, you'll NEVER have a day off from retirement. NO vacations from retirement.
Seriously, if you're ready, retirement is a wonderful thing.
I retired at age 60 years, 3 months; a little more than 4 years ago. It's been great for us. We had the money side of the challenge fairly well figured out; no big surprises there, yet. Our health is good. Our motorhome has given us the freedom to travel in a way that we enjoy.
I hope it's all good for you, too!
Take care,
Stu
