Put in my retirement notice today..

Finally pulled the pin and notified my company that I am retiring as their national sales manager the end of November. After 38 years of heavy air and car travel and dealing with industrial clients , I am done at 60 years old. I was told by many that I would know when the time was right and that has proved true.

Now the serious search starts for a motorhome from a private seller, but first we have to survive hosting the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays for my two daughter's families with 5 grandkids, then a 2 week cruise in January. I am so looking forward to a quiet cell phone and an empty business email box.

I continue to learn so much from this site and the way so many here jump in and try to help is amazing. A new journey is beginning...

Congrats !!

I am going to do the same at the end of the year, @66 yrs young.

I did take 9 months off in 2013, but finances dictated that I return for a little while longer.

I can't wait and I'm jealous.

Ken

OMG I'm jealous! I'm 60 as well, also do a lot of driving and air travel in a sales role, and feeling as though my own decision point is just over the horizon. It must be a huge relief; I know it would be for me. Congratulations!

Congrats to you. I retired in February after 29 years. I'm 57 and don't miss it at all. Get the RV as soon as you can. Good luck. JD

Congrats! You are really smart to buy a used unit. You really don't know what floorplan is best for you until you spend some time in it. If you buy a brand new shiny rig and the floorplan doesn't work for you, you are stuck. We quit our jobs before retirement age and went fulltime 9 1/2 years ago, no regrets. Love the lifestyle.

Congratulations! It's hard to believe that I have been retired for 20 years already. Retirement agrees with me. I heartily recommend it.
Enjoy the search for your motorhome. No need to rush now.
