Question on Rod going to my pop out motor

I have a new to me National RV Sea Breeze 2000 5er. the larger living area popout has a 3/8 rod coming out the side of the frame bent at an L. I was replacing the water storage tank and was now able to see that lever is connected to the rear of the motor for the popout motor. My guess is that is a release lever to manually use the slide or it may be a locl for the slide while on the road. but afraid to just move it and hit the slide switch. anyone know its purpose. thanks ED

Without photos, I can only speculate that you're looking at the manual slideout extend/retract mechanism. Check your storage bays and see if you have a crank that will fit onto the end of the rod - if so, then you've identified it as such.

You have it. It is a manual release of the brake. If you loose power or something breaks, you can release the motor brake and manually push or crank the slide in. When you get the slide in, make sure to move the lever back to the brake position or else, the slide could come out while traveling down the road.
