Radio antenna

Has anyone install an outside radio antenna? Last year I dug out the stock antenna wires from behind the radio and spread them out and remounted them. It helped a little.

Now I'm wondering about installing a small whip antenna on the roof.

Anyone do this? If so what were your results?

No I have not a installed an antenna on my rig.
You talking AM or FM receiving?
Either way you have to consider where you can mount and fish the coax to the back of your radio.

If you boomdock away from town you may need a small amp to help.

Installing an outside AM/FM antenna is no big deal as you can do a side mount instead of the roof mount. It all depends on your coax routing from the hole in the roof or wall to the area behind the radio.

Good luck

The radio “whip” antenna from NTP (any rv store can get it) comes with a antenna, roof mount and 17’ of cable, I think I paid $20 for it. I’ll try and see if I can find a p/n

Iggy- Yes it's for the AM/FM. Never thought of doing a side mount. Actually that makes more sense since the radio is in a slide out.

Clomok- I was thinking something like this. Amazon has quite a few and I've looked at others on online RV store sites. https://smile.amazon.com/Recreationa...+antenna&psc=1
