Radio issue

Anyone ever heard of a radio turning itself on spontaneously? Mine does, and at night. Nothing in the owner's manual suggests there is a function such as a clock alarm or the like. Although there is a clock function we have never set the clock and we defeat this defect by removing the radio face and storing.
We plan to interrupt the 12 volt power supply and installing a switch on or near the dashboard which should correct the problem, which only occurs when the engine is not running so the power supplied through the ignition should not be affected. Any other suggestions would be appreciated.

My Jensen radio used to do that quite often. It turns out that the radio has the weather band and by default the feature to turn on the radio whenever NOAA issues a weather alert is turned on. I went into the setup menu and was able to turn that feature to off.
