We usually leave FL in early April, but we have often thought about staying a little longer. Guess we'll forget about that.

When we left in early April, there were NO love bugs, and few bugs of any kind. Good luck getting them off.

I have seen those nasty things so thick on the fronts of trucks it looked like the surface of the cab was moving. It seemed back then (40+ years ago) they were more of them hovering over the interstate than were on surface roads. We kept a screen over the radiator of that old cabover and had to scrape it down when we fueled. With the windshield you just squirted a lot of water and used a squeegee until you could get a hole to see through. Nasty creatures!

OH GEEEZE!

We're planning to leave the Tampa/St. Pete area tomorrow morning......dang!! Gotta go get another bottle of bug remover. There's nuthin more fun after a long days drive than settin up camp for the night and then having to spend an hour cleaning bugs off the front of the rig.....whooopeee!! We're having to head up to Minneapolis, MN due to mom's health issue, so now, in addition to tryin to figure the best route around all the stalled storms, tornadoes and flooding, I get to wash the front of the rig every night. Right now the best route looks like back toward Dallas and up I-35. Wonder if they have love bugs in Louisiana and Texas.

We are not heading out until May 31, but I'm going to try something different that I read about here on iRV2.

I'm going to take Glad Press'n Seal and cover the painted portion of the front of the coach. Assuming it works well, I'll leave it on until I get to N GA where will will stay for 12 days before continuing north.

If it works well I'll continue to use it in buggie areas, but I primarily want to use it to keep the love bugs off the front end.

Oh No. We are leaving Miami Sunday going up the Turnpike and then I-75. Saw some some love bugs where I store the RV yesterday. Glad I waxed the front cap of the trailer.

Spraying a coating of PAM keeps them from sticking

I live in FL and have to deal with them all the time. A lot of fun on my motorcycle! Spray Pam on the paint and use Rain X on the windshield. About all you can do. and if you're on a motorcycle, keep yer mouth shut! They don't taste like chicken....
