I thought I'd seen some gizmo in an camping store, perhaps Camping World, that is supposed to hold the outside plastic vent louvers closed. But I can't recall what it looked like... Our vent does rattle a bit, especially in the suction of passing a semi trailer, but we pretty much ignore it. We travel with both ceiling vents always open, so maybe that lessens the differential of inside air pressure vs. outside pressure, I don't know. RVers use all kinds of tricks, from wedges of popscicle sticks to industrial velcro to quiet rattles. Your difficulty may be compounded by the fact that the vent is 8 feet (or more)up off the ground, so whatever you put up there, you need a stepladder to get it back off... Perhaps a short piece of plastic, like a lever, that screwed on one end to the side of the vent. -You could use your awning rod to reach up and flip the plastic lever over to secure the louver closed during transit.
