Hi,
I just want to know what the going rates for campground membership buyins are:
We bought into K/M parks which gave up access to 8 parks in WA state, which they say is growing yearly. And free use with reservation of Thousand Trails and Leisure Time Resorts
We paid 4000.00 for this privelege.
Did we get a good deal?
Does anyone else enjoy camping for free with membership buy in in these parks?
The reason we bought it, we found it was too expensive to camp and pay for gas. The parks are everywhere in the US.

Any info. appreciated!!!

Michelle

Well, it sounds like an awful lot of money to me, but I suppose it depends on how much you like the available membership campgrounds and what the typical rates are in the areas you travel. Membership systems seem to be something you either love or hate.

I think, though, if your objective was to get access to Thousand Trails & Leisure Time systems, you probably could have bought in for much less. There are often resales available and also new memberships in parks that are offering steep promotional discounts. They may be parks that have proven to be unpopular for whatever reason, but you won't care if you use your membership to always go to other member parks anyway.

I'm curious that you bought in and then asked here for input. Wouldn't it have been better to ask first? Or can you stll get your $4000 back?

Hi,
We were at camping world putting a new fridge in starting out on our trip, went to a seminar, signed papers, camped for free. yeah right.

Talked to other campers who acted happy with their membership.

We have found camping rates and gas are way too expensive for us, this was a way around that.

I just found you.

M.

We feel that non believers don't really know what we like. We like the resort style of camping. My idea of roughing it is no Phone. We like hot showers, security of these parks. and the great people we meet. The only thing we were worried about is if they allowed pop-ups. ( thats what we own right now.)We joined CRA here in AZ. And also TT and Coast to Coast. We have had these memberships for years and are paid off, all we have are the maintenance fees. We stayed 3 mikes from Disney World for $7.00 a night. Well worth it as long as you use it to get your moneys worth. Have fun and enjoy.
